This exhibition is a tour of the Vatican Gardens by photographer Saulius Paukštys. The viewer of the exhibition also participates in the unique tour. With the help of photographic images, we travel through the Vatican gardens, get to know the daily life of the world's smallest state, look at the architectural and artistic objects: the Villa of Pius IV, the Kite Fountain, the Grotto of Lourdes, the Vatican Radio Building, the Vatican State Railway, and look at the panorama of Rome from the Vatican Hill.
Walking along the paths of the Vatican Gardens together with Saulius Paukštys, we see the variety of gardens in three styles - Italian, English and French. The Italian garden is formal and geometric, the French garden is distinguished by the expression of classical and baroque art, the English garden is characterized by geometric features with natural and artificial elements such as caves, streams, pagodas, gazebos, temples and ruins.

The Vatican Gardens are a wonderful space of nature, architecture and art, occupying a 23-hectare part of the Vatican Hill. 1279 Pope Nicholas III moved his residence from the Lateran Palace to the Vatican and surrounded this area with walls. The gardens and vineyards, which have been growing on the hill since ancient times, were filled with gardens, meadows and gardens thanks to the efforts of this pope. 16th century at the beginning, Pope Julius II reorganized the landscape, which according to the project of Donat Bramantė was divided into three courtyards - Belvedere, Library and Kankorėžys. A rectangular maze was also created with shrubs and small evergreen trees framed by Lebanese pines and cedars. At the place where Nicholas III had built a wall, Bramante built a large rectangular defensive wall. Today, the Vatican Gardens are a complex landscape full of forests, medieval monuments, Renaissance and Baroque buildings, artificial grottoes, fountains, and sculptural images of saints.
On a silent tour of the Vatican and its gardens, the viewer is not accompanied by an accredited guide of the Vatican Museums, but by Vilnius Markučiai chronicler Saulius Paukštys.
